The Battle Is Real, But So Is Your Victory

Have you ever felt like you were fighting a battle that didn’t even make sense?
Nothing may look terribly wrong on the outside, but inside, you’re exhausted.
Your thoughts are loud. Your mind won’t rest. You feel pressure you can’t explain. There’s a heaviness sitting on your chest, and even though you’re praying, worshiping, and trying to trust God, something still feels like a fight.
I’ve been there.
There have been moments when I’ve had to ask myself, “God, what is happening to me?” Because sometimes the battle isn’t around you. Sometimes the battlefield is within you.
And I’m learning that not every battle can be fought with human strength.
Sometimes you can’t talk yourself out of it. You can’t plan your way out of it. You can’t “positive-think” your way through it.
Some battles require spiritual weapons.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4:
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”
That verse hits differently when you’re actually in the fight.
It reminds me that I was never supposed to win this battle with my own strength. My emotions aren’t my weapon. My ability to figure everything out isn’t my weapon. My willpower isn’t my weapon.
God is my strength. His Word is my weapon.
And here’s what I have to keep reminding myself: Jesus already won.
When Jesus went to the cross, He didn’t just die for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, He defeated the power of sin and death. The enemy does not get the final word over my life—or yours.
So what does the enemy try to do?
He lies.
He whispers things like:
You’re not going to make it.
God has forgotten you.
Nothing is going to change.
Look at your past.
Look at your mistakes.
You’re not strong enough.
And sometimes, if we’re not careful, we start repeating those lies to ourselves.
But this is where I have to laugh a little because…the nerve of that loser!
The enemy wants me to forget who I belong to.
He wants you to forget who you belong to.
Because when we remember our identity in Christ, we fight differently.
We stop fighting for victory and start standing from a place of victory.
We stop chasing victory and start walking in what Christ has already accomplished.
So when fear starts speaking, I have to speak louder:
“No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
When I feel like darkness is surrounding me:
“Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”
When anxiety tries to convince me that everything is falling apart:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”
This is something I’m learning: you cannot always control the thought that enters your mind, but you can decide which voice gets authority.
When the enemy whispers fear, speak faith.
When confusion comes, rest in God’s peace.
When your past starts calling your name, remember what Jesus has already redeemed.
And when the enemy tries to convince you that he’s winning, remind him of something very important:
He already lost.
I cannot stress this enough, the enemy is a loser!
Luke 10:19 reminds us of the authority Jesus gives His people. We don't have to live terrified of the enemy or intimidated by every spiritual attack.
So if you’re reading this while fighting something nobody else can see, I want you to know something:
Keep standing.
Even if your prayers feel weak.
Keep praying.
Even if you don’t feel like worshiping.
Worship anyway.
Even if your mind feels like a battlefield.
Open your Bible and speak the Word.
Put on the armor of God. Guard your mind. Protect your heart. Stay close to Jesus.
You may feel overwhelmed, but overwhelmed does not mean abandoned.
You may be in a battle, but the battle does not belong to the enemy.
It belongs to the Lord.
A Whisper to God
Father, I’m tired.
Some of the battles I’m fighting are hard to explain, and sometimes I don’t even understand them myself. But You do.
When my thoughts become too loud, remind me of Your truth. When fear tries to take over, remind me that You are with me. When I feel weak, remind me that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness.
Help me recognize the lies of the enemy and replace them with Your Word. Guard my mind. Guard my heart. Give me peace when everything inside of me feels unsettled.
And most importantly, remind me who I am.
I am Yours.
I am loved.
I am covered.
I am not fighting alone.
And because Jesus has already overcome, I can stand confidently knowing that the enemy does not have the final word.
Jesus does.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
So today, put on your armor.
Stand tall.
Pray.
Worship through the warfare.
Speak the Word even when your voice shakes.
And remember:
The battle is real. But so is your God.
And Jesus has already won.
One whisper at a time.
